Professional photography studio
in the center of Prague.

Before Your Photoshoot
Can we communicate in English?
Yes. I speak fluent English, so all communication and the photoshoot itself can take place entirely in English.

Over the course of my career, I have worked with clients representing more than 100 different nationalities. I regularly photograph international executives, entrepreneurs, scientists, artists, and visitors to Prague.

My experience with international clients allows me to adapt both the communication and the photoshoot experience to the individual person or team.
What if I'm not comfortable in front of the camera?
In fact, most of my clients are people who are not used to being photographed.

I often work with people who feel they are not photogenic or simply don't feel confident in front of the camera.
My role is not just to take photographs, but also to guide you through the entire photoshoot. Thanks to many years of experience and a great deal of patience, I strive to create a calm atmosphere without unnecessary pressure or rush.

I'll help you with posing, expressions, and the overall flow of the photoshoot, so you don't have to worry about what to do in front of the camera and can simply be yourself.
What if I don't know how to pose?
That's completely normal. Most people I photograph have little or no experience with professional photoshoots.

During the photoshoot, I'll guide you step by step. I'll help you find natural poses, flattering angles, and expressions that reflect your personality. There's no need to learn how to pose in advance or search for inspiration online.
What if I'm not photogenic?
In more than twenty years of photography, I have met very few people who were genuinely not photogenic. Much more often, I meet people whose opinion of their appearance is shaped by phone snapshots or photographs taken in conditions that are far from ideal for portrait photography.

Being photogenic is not a gift that only some people have. It is the result of good lighting, guidance, atmosphere, and the photographer's experience. My goal is not to create an artificial version of you, but to capture the best of who you really are.

Many clients tell me that they didn't feel comfortable in front of the camera at first, but as the photoshoot progressed, they stopped worrying about the camera and started focusing on the photoshoot itself.
How do I choose the right type of photoshoot?
The best place to start is by thinking about what the photographs are for and how you would like them to feel.

Some people are looking for business portraits for LinkedIn or a company website, while others want photographs for themselves, for a partner, for social media, or as a way of capturing a particular stage of life. Each type of photoshoot offers a different way of expressing who you are.

If you're not sure which type of photoshoot is right for you, I'll be happy to discuss your ideas and help you choose the one that best matches your goals and expectations.
How does preparation for a photoshoot work, and can we discuss my ideas in advance?
Absolutely. Before the photoshoot, we'll usually discuss your ideas, the purpose of the photographs, and the style you're looking for.

Most things can be discussed conveniently by email or phone. The photoshoot itself typically begins with a short conversation, during which we'll go over the final details, clothing choices, the overall atmosphere, and any remaining questions. For larger or more individual projects, a more in-depth consultation can of course be arranged in advance.

This allows us to prepare everything properly and helps ensure that the entire photoshoot takes place in a relaxed atmosphere without unnecessary stress.
What should I wear for the photoshoot?
That depends on the style of the photographs and what they will be used for. In general, I recommend bringing several outfit options so we can choose the most suitable ones together.

If you're not sure what to wear, I'll be happy to advise you before the photoshoot. Recommendations may vary depending on whether you're planning business portraits, casting photos, boudoir photography, or a family photoshoot, as well as the specific purpose and style of the photographs.

The goal is not to find the "right outfit," but one that feels comfortable, reflects your personality, and helps you present yourself the way you want to be seen in the photographs.
How should I prepare for the photoshoot?
There's no need to learn how to pose or have any previous experience with professional photography. Most of my clients are attending their first photoshoot or have only very limited experience.

If you have a particular style of photograph in mind or an idea of how you would like to appear in the final images, we can discuss it before the photoshoot.

I recommend bringing several outfit options and any accessories you might like to include in the photographs. We can make the final selection together on the day of the shoot.

During the photoshoot, I'll guide you through the entire process, so you don't need to worry about how to pose or what to do in front of the camera.
Do I need any previous experience with photoshoots?
No. Most of my clients have little or no experience before their photoshoot.

During the photoshoot, I'll guide you through the entire process and help you with posing, expressions, and the overall flow of the session. There's no need to know how to stand in front of a camera or what exactly you're supposed to do.

Clients with no previous experience are often surprised to discover that the photoshoot was easier and more enjoyable than they expected.
How the Photoshoot Works
What types of photoshoots do you offer?
I offer portrait photography for women, men, and couples, business and corporate portraits, casting headshots, lifestyle and fashion photography, boudoir photography, fine art nudes, family and children's photography, maternity portraits, wedding photography, and product photography.

Although these genres differ in many ways, they all share the same goal: creating photographs that capture not only appearance, but also personality, character, emotions, and the relationships between people in front of the camera.
How long does a photoshoot take?
The length of a photoshoot depends on the package you choose, the style of photography, and the number of people being photographed.

A basic photoshoot typically lasts around 30 minutes. Longer packages may last 45 minutes, 2 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours, or up to 5 hours. The exact duration is always specified in the description of each package.

The times listed are intended as a guide. Their primary purpose is to help clients plan their time and develop a realistic expectation of how the photoshoot will unfold.

The purpose of a photography package is not to measure every minute spent in front of the camera, but to create photographs you will be happy with. If a particular part of the photoshoot needs a little more time, that is usually not a problem.
Where is your photography studio located?
The JanWphotography studio is located in the centre of Prague at Bolzanova 1615/1, Prague 1, just a few minutes' walk from Wenceslas Square and close to both Prague Main Railway Station and Masaryk Railway Station.

The studio is situated in the attic of a historic building on the fourth floor. Its central Prague location makes it easily accessible by both public transport and car. The private setting provides a comfortable environment for portrait photography, business portraits, boudoir photography, maternity portraits, and fine art nudes.
Do you also offer outdoor photoshoots?
Yes. Not every photograph is best created in a studio. Many photoshoots take place in the streets of Prague, parks, cafés, offices, or other locations that better reflect a person's personality and the intended style of the photographs.

Whether it's a portrait session, family photoshoot, maternity session, or lifestyle photography, the choice of location is always based on the nature of the shoot, the personality of the person being photographed, and the purpose of the final images.

Because outdoor photoshoots require additional time for planning, travel, and the shoot itself, they are usually part of larger photography packages or individually tailored projects.
Can you help me choose a location for the photoshoot?
Yes. If you don't already have a specific location in mind, I'll be happy to help you choose one.

Thanks to many years of photographing in Prague, I know a wide range of interesting locations, atmospheric hidden corners, and lesser-known places away from the main tourist routes. Choosing the right location also involves considering the timing of the photoshoot, lighting conditions, and the overall atmosphere of the setting.

Some clients are looking for the elegance of historic Prague, while others prefer modern architecture, quiet locations away from the crowds, or a particular atmosphere connected to a specific idea or story. This might include locations featured in Dan Brown's latest novel set in Prague, the unique Kafkaesque atmosphere of old Prague, the medieval world familiar from Kingdom Come, or simply a place that holds personal meaning for the client.

The location is always chosen with the style of the photographs, the personality of the person being photographed, and the story the photographs are meant to tell in mind.
Can I bring more than one outfit to the photoshoot?
Yes. Having several outfit options allows you to try different styles, moods, and levels of formality. It is also quite common for some outfits to work better in photographs than others, which is why it's helpful to have a few options to choose from.

The number of outfit changes depends on the length of the photoshoot and the package you choose. I'm happy to advise you on suitable options either before the photoshoot or at the studio.
Can I bring someone with me to the photoshoot?
Yes. If having a friend, partner, or family member with you helps you feel more comfortable during the photoshoot, that's absolutely fine.

At the same time, I recommend considering whether having someone with you will genuinely help you focus on the photoshoot. For some clients, the presence of another person helps them feel more relaxed, while others prefer the privacy and uninterrupted space of a one-to-one session.
Can I combine different photography styles within a single package?
Yes. Most photography packages allow you to combine different photography styles and genres according to your preferences.

The available options depend mainly on the length of the photoshoot and the package you choose. Shorter sessions naturally offer less flexibility when it comes to combining different styles or outfit changes, while longer photoshoots provide significantly greater flexibility, including the possibility of multiple locations or combining an outdoor session with a studio shoot.

If you're not sure which style or combination of styles would work best for your photoshoot, I'll be happy to help you choose the most suitable option.
Is it possible to book a photoshoot in the evening or on a weekend?
Yes. If weekdays don't fit your schedule, evening and weekend appointments are also available.

Availability depends on my current schedule, so I recommend booking your photoshoot well in advance.
Can a makeup artist be arranged for the photoshoot?
Yes. I work with trusted professional makeup artists whose services can be arranged depending on the type and requirements of the photoshoot.

A makeup artist can assist with makeup, hairstyling, and overall preparation before the session. Prices typically start from CZK 500, depending on the scope of the services required.
From Previews to Final Photographs
Can I choose which photographs will be retouched during the photoshoot?
The selection process takes place after the photoshoot. I will send you previews from which you can choose the photographs you would like to have edited.

Choosing photographs during the photoshoot itself would unnecessarily interrupt the flow of the session and distract from the photography. Selecting from previews afterwards gives you the opportunity to review the images at your own pace and choose the photographs you like best.
Can I choose which photographs will be retouched?
Yes. After the photoshoot, you will receive previews from which you can choose the images you would like to have professionally edited.

Depending on the package and type of photoshoot, you will typically be choosing from approximately 30 to 400 preview images. The number of final edited photographs is then determined by the package you selected or by an individual agreement.

If you're unsure which photographs to choose, I'll be happy to help you with the selection.
How many photographs will I receive?
The number of final edited photographs depends on the package you choose or on any individual agreement we make.

Standard packages typically include between 3 and 30 professionally edited and retouched photographs. The exact number is always specified in the description of each package.

After the photoshoot, you will receive previews from which you can choose the photographs you would like to have professionally edited.
Will I receive all the photographs from the photoshoot?
No. The service does not include delivery of all photographs taken during the photoshoot. Instead, it includes the careful selection and professional editing of a specific number of photographs, according to the package you choose or an individual agreement.

After the photoshoot, you will receive previews from which you can choose the photographs to be professionally edited. If you would like more photographs than are included in your package, additional images can be ordered.

Selecting and editing the photographs is an important part of my work. It ensures that you receive images that reflect the quality, style, and results you expect when booking a photoshoot.

Providing all photographs from a session is not a standard practice among professional photographers and photography studios. Just as a photographer's work involves more than simply taking photographs, it also includes helping clients select the best images and professionally preparing the final photographs.
Can I order additional edited photographs?
Yes. If you would like more photographs than are included in your package, you can order additional professionally edited and retouched images.

The price of each additional edited photograph is CZK 550. You can decide how many additional photographs you would like after reviewing the previews.
What kind of retouching is included?
The extent of retouching depends on the type of photographs and your individual requirements.

Retouching may include skin adjustments, the removal of temporary blemishes, small distracting elements, or stray hairs.

Every photograph is retouched individually by hand rather than through automated filters or batch processing.

The goal is to preserve the most natural look possible and create photographs that feel professional and timeless without losing their authenticity.

If you have specific preferences regarding the extent of retouching, we can discuss them in advance.
How long does it take to receive the photographs?
You will usually receive the previews within a few days of the photoshoot. The final edited photographs are then delivered after you have selected the images for retouching.

The exact delivery time depends on the scope of the project and my current workload. In most cases, the finished photographs are ready within 10 days of your image selection.

If you need the photographs sooner, it is usually possible to arrange a shorter turnaround time in advance.
Is expedited delivery available?
Yes. If you need your photographs sooner, expedited delivery can usually be arranged in advance.

The availability of expedited processing depends on the scope of the project and my current workload. In some cases, expedited delivery may be subject to an additional fee.
How will I receive my photographs?
Your finished photographs will be delivered digitally through secure online storage.

The photographs are provided in full resolution, suitable for both printing and everyday use. Once the editing is complete, I will send you a link that allows you to download your photographs conveniently.

If required, I can also help prepare photographs for specific uses or arrange additional services such as professional prints, photo books, or calendars. These services are charged separately.
Will my photographs be published?
I never publish photographs without your permission.

Client privacy is a fundamental part of my work and the trust we build together.

Any use of photographs on my website, social media, portfolio, or marketing materials is always subject to an individual agreement with the client.
Corporate and International Photography
Can corporate photography be arranged at our company premises?
Yes. Corporate photography sessions can take place at your offices, in my studio, or at a location of your choice.

Photographing employees and management on-site is often the most efficient solution for companies and larger teams. Thanks to my experience with corporate photography, I can adapt the entire process to your company's schedule and day-to-day operations, ensuring minimal disruption for both management and employees.

Whether you need business portraits for LinkedIn, your company website, marketing materials, or an annual report, the photoshoot can be tailored to your organisation's specific needs.
How do you organise corporate photography for larger teams?
Before the photoshoot, we will agree on the desired photographic style, schedule, and the most effective way to organise individual employees throughout the session.

I always try to adapt the process to your company's day-to-day operations, ensuring minimal disruption for both management and employees. Most people only need to step away from their work for a short time and can return to their duties immediately after being photographed.

If needed, I can also help with dress code recommendations and provide guidance to employees before the photoshoot.

Whether you need portraits of a few senior executives or an entire team, the goal is always to deliver professional results while minimising the impact on your company's normal operations.
Do you have experience working with international clients and teams?
Yes. Over the course of my career, I have photographed clients representing more than 100 different nationalities.

I regularly work with international executives, entrepreneurs, scientists, artists, and visitors to Prague. My work also includes photographing international teams and employees of multinational companies.

As a result, I am accustomed to working with people from different countries, professional backgrounds, and a wide range of expectations. All communication and the photoshoot itself can take place entirely in English. My experience with international clients allows me to adapt both the communication and the photoshoot experience to the specific needs of each client or team.
Booking, Pricing and Gift Vouchers
How can I book a photoshoot?
You can book a photoshoot by phone, via WhatsApp, by email, or through the contact form on my website.

We will discuss your ideas, choose the most suitable type of photoshoot, and arrange a date. If needed, I will also be happy to advise you on how to prepare for the session.
Do you offer gift vouchers for photoshoots?
Yes, gift vouchers are available for most photography packages as well as individual photoshoots.

Once payment has been received, I will send you a gift voucher in PDF format, ready to print or send to the recipient.

If you're unsure which package to choose, a gift voucher for any amount can also be arranged.
How is the price of a photoshoot determined?
The price of a photoshoot depends on the package you choose, the scope of the session, and the number of final photographs.

For custom projects, the price may also depend on the location, the time required, or any specific requirements.

You will always know the exact price before confirming your booking.
Does the intended use of the photographs affect the price?
Yes, but this does not apply to photographs intended for private individuals. Different licensing terms and pricing apply primarily to photographs created for corporate and commercial use.

Photographs used for advertising campaigns, marketing materials, or other commercial purposes may be subject to different licensing terms than photographs intended for standard corporate presentation.

If you're unsure what type of licence you will need, I'll be happy to explain the available options before the photoshoot.
Do the standard prices also apply to couples and groups?
The standard prices are intended for individual photoshoots.

For couples and groups of up to four people, an additional fee of CZK 500 is added to the package price. For larger groups, pricing is determined individually based on the number of people being photographed and the extent of the retouching required.

You can always find the latest pricing information in the price list, or I will be happy to clarify it before you book your photoshoot.
